Every Little Helps

WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

Salty Paws is a non-profit organization based on the beautiful paradise island of Union Island in St.Vincent & the Grenadines, South of the Caribbean.

As you may have heard, our beautiful island recently got hit by a Category 4/5 Hurricane on July 1st 2024. Hurricane Beryl completely destroyed our island.

Salty Paws is still standing however the building got a lot of damage and we lost all of our fencing. Our clinic is still useable for surgeries.

We currently are raising funds so that Vets can come and help tend to sick and injured animals. You can donate using our GoFundMe link. DONATE HERE
We also have the vets perform Spays and Neuters so that we can keep the population of unwanted animals down.

We have had 2 sets of Volunteer Vets so far but need a lot more help.

Prior to Hurricane Beryl

Our main goal is to raise awareness of the importance of treating animals kindly and how to take proper care of them as well as explain why Spaying and Neutering is necessary.

We are on a small isolated island, with a population of less than 3000 people and lots of stray cats & dogs. As we have no veterinarians on island, it makes it very difficult to care for the animals and to control the unwanted overpopulation of them.

We currently have over 30 animals living on site, that were found abandoned, struggling and left to fend for themselves.  These dogs have been with us since before we converted into an animal clinic only. We do not rescue animals anymore, but rather treat them for whatever diseases they might have.

They had been found in a terrible state prior to Covid, mostly near death or very ill, we picked them up and offered them a safe place to shelter, with food and lots of love. Once recovered, we spayed or neutered them. Then find them a loving home.
We are currently at FULL capacity, and do not take in animals.

So please do not dump any animals at our premises.

Contact us for assistance.

It roughly costs $2500 USD  per month to cover the costs of running the charity. That includes: rent, salaries, dog & cat food for 40 animals, basic medication such as dewormer and flea & tick treatment as well as cleaning supplies.

Our clinic is mostly used for spay & neuter clinics when we have visiting volunteer vets, carried out by qualified vets, so that we can fight the overpopulation of cats & dogs and ensure they have a happier and healthier future.

Salty Paws is owned and mostly funded by Zoe, the owner of The Salty Girl. We depend greatly on donations so that we can do more. We are very grateful for the incredible donors that donate to our organisation as well as the amazing volunteers that help us.

Susie is our live-in caretaker and a huge animal lover and who is fabulous with our in-house animals, while they wait on finding their forever homes.

Thanks to you guys, we are able to help our furry friends on Union Island and couldn't thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts.

If you're visiting Union Island, stop by and say hi to us !

What you can do to help.

If you are visiting St.Vincent & the Grenadines and come across a stray animal you'd like to help, here are a few things you can do:

- Feed it

- Deworm and treat it for Fleas and Ticks (Most islands sell products for this)

- Give it lots of Love

- Adopt it (we can help with the process)

- Donate to us so we can continue to help the stray animals

If on mainland St.Vincent:

You can take the animal to a Vet for a Spay or Neuter and general health check. That way the animal at least has a more comfortable life without reproducing.

Spay/Neuter a Cat or Dog
for $50 !

To help fight cat & dog overpopulation,
you can pay $50 towards spaying or neutering an animal !
ONLY

$50

OUR FREE SPAY & NEUTER CLINICS

We try to do Free Spay & Neuter Clinics as often as we can with our Volunteer Vets, so persons on the island can bring in their pet cats &

dogs, so that we can reduce the population of unwanted animals.

Strays are picked up during clinics, so that they don't overbreed and are guaranteed a much healthier future .

The more donations we get, the more free spay & neuter clinics we can offer.

You can help us help them by donating or volunteering.
